Upon entering, one is greeted by the buzzing children’s section of the festival. The entertainment for children included jumping castles, horse riding, quad bike riding, and video games. The children were joined by some adults in these activities, taking turns riding horses and quad bikes around the open area.

“Let the children come and play,” was the constant chime by the gaming attendants by the entrance.

The main attraction on the boxing stage was the much anticipated exchange of blows between Mphandlana Shongwe and Major V.

“It all ends today for Major V, I will finish him,” said Mphandlana when arriving at the arena.

This did not go as planned for Shongwe, who lost 2-1 to the popular pastor.

Right next to the rubber burning arena was the main stage where music and fashion lovers were treated to the best which Eswatini has to offer.

The main stage featured a fashion display by local designers, which was followed by a spectacular performance by popular rapper Mr Kangaroo.

BUSINESSES GALORE AT BIGGEST BRAAI

…as all businesses seemingly represented

BY KWANELE TSABEDZE

MANZINI – A mini trade fair.

This is what best describes the scene at the 2023 Biggest Braai Festival currently ongoing at Mavuso Trade Centre.

This is because there seemed to be no business not represented among the colorful banners and gazebos displaying different corporate entities at the festival grounds at Mavuso.

Speaking about the turnout, Eswatini Observer Editor Mbongeni Mbingo expressed joy at seeing everyone there and happy.

“It’s exciting to see everyone happy together here today,” said the editor.

All businesses were decidedly not vegetarian on the day as they were seen grilling meat in front of their gazebos.

The 7th edition of the Biggest Braai is expected to end at 6AM on July 9, with performances currently ongoing.
