MBABANE – Germany has taken interest on how Eswatini Govenrment and Emaswati in general are going to implement the concerns raised by the nation during Sibaya People’s Parliament.

This was said by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso on his Facebook page when giving feedback on the meeting he had with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom Eswatini, His Excellency (HE) Andreas Peschke. The meeting took place over the past weekend.

Dlamini said he and Ambassador Peschke discussed how the two countries could work together on areas of energy and vocational education.

“H.E Peschke relayed Germany’s interest to further cooperate with Eswatini in the areas of vocational education and energy. He also expressed Germany’s interest on how Eswatini plans to implement issues that were raised at Sibaya, to which we assured him that the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini has prioritised all Sibaya submissions and some of these are already being actioned as per His Majesty’s #Nkwe command,” Dlamini said.

His Excellency also told Dlamini of Germany’s intention to present a call for proposal for Eswatini to partake in the COP Climate Protection Initiative.

Sibaya took place last year and was officially opened by His Majesty King Mswati III on October 22, 2023. The King called on Emaswati to submit on all issues that were a problem to him. The people were given that opportunity and at the end, Dlamini was appointed as a Prime Minister on November 3, 2023.

When appointing Dlamini, the King said: “Here is Mmemo (Mmiso) Russell Dlamini who was at the Eswatini National Disaster Management Agency. He is here to resolve all the disasters we are experiencing and I appoint him for you the people. You will therefore pray for him that he does all his work well.”
