MBABANE– Local musical competition Glocal Up season one finale is down to its seven contestants after a tough two weeks of competition.
Twelve contestants fought for a slot in the finale but only the toughest seven acts remain who were able to make it through the task of recording a collaboration, where judges scored them according to their scores and public votes.
The top seven contestants are Esapkotah, Cxleb Raps, Banda Hose, Stellar Outcasts, Shatt Res, Ice Tea and N.K.T.
The Entertainment Desk sought information from record label Aeriel Empire’s spokesperson Mkhuleko Mangwe about the competition.
“We are happy to have worked with all these musicians and every one of them deserves the prize which is a feature with Harem-O, E5 000 cash prize, performance at the Epic Gig, six months photo shoot and an album recording deal with Aeriel Empire,” said Mangwe.
Mangwe further said that if the streets of the country would be dusted, they would find that what people see as stones is actually gold and hence upcoming artists are all that the country needs to prove the worth of the local talent.
The Finale’s theme is The Finale of Period pains (Men Ending Gender-Based Violence) and will be held on December 10 at Cloud 9. The entrance fee is E250.
