GOLF – The Eswatini Golf Union president and senior golfer Albert Mhlanga rolled back the years to win the February ESRIC Monthly Mug.
Mhlanga played a commanding net 68 to beat 52 other golfers. Siboniso Simelane won the gross category with an excellent score of 72, matching the course in the process. The runner-up in the net category was Musa Shongwe on net 69 while Sibusiso Shongwe came third on 70, winning on a count back. The best lady golfer on the day was Nosmilo Kgomo on net 77.
Representing the sponsor Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) was Marketing Manager Gcebile Simelane while Mbabane Golf Club captain Fisiwe Vilane helped during the presentation after a demanding Saturday on the Mbabane Golf course greens.
“We are grateful to ESRIC for the continued partnership and we congratulate all winners of the day. The ESRIC Monthly Mug is held on the first Saturday of every month,” Vilane said.
The competition is sponsored to the tune of E105 000 annually by ESRIC.
