MBABANE – The first half of September or at least the quarter of it His Majesty King Mswati III has been busy.
From commissioning Imbali, the one hosting presidents and formers. The Government of Eswatini has congratulated His Majesty on a job well done.
Through their Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo, the government expressed that they would like to congratulate His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Indlovukazi and the entire Eswatini Nation for a successful commemoration of the historic 55/55 Double Celebrations on September 6, 2023.
“EmaSwati came out in their numbers to celebrate such a momentous occasion with Their Majesties and our important guests and visitors from different parts of the globe.
“We were excited to be graced by the presence of His Majesty King Letsie III of the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho; the President of the Republic of China, Taiwan, Her Excellency Tsai Ing-wen; former South African President H.E Jacob Zuma; former Botswana President lan Khama; the Kings of Amahlubi and Amampondo, and the KwaZulu-Natal Premier, among other prestigious guests,” said Nxumalo.
He further said, the presence of Tsai was particularly iconic as Eswatini was also celebrating 55 years since she first established diplomatic ties with Taiwan. The signing of three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) by Tsai and His Majesty on women empowerment; local governance and energy further cement the already fruitful relations.
“Notably, Eswatini was also commemorating 55 years of the Eswatini International Trade Fair, making September a remarkable month for the Kingdom of Eswatini.
We congratulate emaSwati for their patriotism and evident love for their country. As His Majesty King Mswati III once again affirmed his wish for Eswatini, may we all continue to give him, and ourselves, the gift of peace,” said Nxumalo.
