MBABANE– Happy International Woman’s Day!
The Government of Eswatini has joined the world in wishing women a Happy Woman’s Day.
Taking it to their online platforms, government also said they embraced equity.
“Good day Eswatini. Government wished all women in Eswatini and the entire globe a wonderful Women’s Day. #EmbraceEquity (verbatim),” read the statement.
Worth noting is that government’s warm words come just two days before they host the second-leg of Buganu Festival at Hlane. The first leg was hosted at Buhleni Royal Residence over a week ago.
Buganu Festival embraces the Lutsango regiment- which comprises of women in the country. They showcase their talents and share ideas of how they can create multiple strings of income. The festival also sees women dancing with their Majesties. According to Wikipedia, International Women’s Day (IWD), is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender, equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
