MBABANE – The Government of Eswatini through the Ministry of Home Affairs has extended its sincerest apologies to the general public for the recent unavailability of travel documents.

In a communique authenticated by the Ministry’s Communication Officer Mlandvo Dlamini, it was mentioned that the Ministry understands the inconvenience and frustration this has caused to their valued clients.

“The unavailability of the travel documents is a direct result of technical challenges we have encountered. Our service programmers are currently working tirelessly to reprogram our system to accommodate the new batch of passports,”, said Dlamini.

In addition, he said, they would love to assure emaSwati that extensive efforts are underway to overcome these obstacles and restore the availability of the travel documents as soon as possible.

“We want to emphasise that the documents have already been printed and are ready to be distributed. However, due to the technical issues we are currently facing, we are unable to load them into our system for end users to access them. Therefore, we want to assure the public that we are treating this situation as a top priority and are working diligently to resolve this issue promptly,” said Dlamini.

He further assured the public that the Ministry will provide regular updates on the progress and will notify the Nation as soon as the documents become available for use.

“We are committed to learning from this situation and implementing measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Thank you for your understanding and patience,” said Dlamini.
