NKOMAZI – Done and dusted.
The festive season will come with an additional development benefit for residents of Nkomazi and surrounding areas.
In fact, community gatherings including meetings and entertainment events will now be hosted in a first-of-its-kind community hall built by the Eswatini government through Microprojects under the Regional Development Fund (RDF). The community hall is worth E2 498 753.55 and its construction began this year in March. It is targeted that the hall will benefit at least over 8000 people.
This publication has gathered that government will hand over the hall tomorrow (Wednesday 1 December 2021).
Already, residents and the constituency council are tapping their backs in celebrating yet another development in the constituency. Not so long ago, the residents welcomed a clinic worth E5.8 million.
Meanwhile, Zakhele Magongo, Nkhaba Member of Parliament, said the project has brought great relief to the constituency.
“We are grateful to government for the project and we believe it will help bring development to the constituency,” he said.
According to a report released by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development on program achievements for the 2020/2021 Financial Year, the Microprojects unit is also constructing community halls, community markets, and community sanitation facilities across the country against an expenditure of E88 656 947.34, about 36 projects are targeted, where 31 are ongoing and five have been completed. Once all of these projects are completed a total of 10 020 people will stand to benefit,” states the report.
