MBABANE – Government has promised to support the boy child, as it has seen the role played by boys in society.
This was said by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini today on his Facebook page, where he made a commitment, on behalf of Government, to support the boy child. He said Govenrment would ensure that policies and programs that equally catered to the development of the boy child were always in place.
“I wish to reaffirm His Majesty’s Government’s appreciation of the role that boys play in society, at their current age and in the future. This is why we will ensure that our policies and programmes equally cater for the development of the boy child,” Dlamini said.
In his message, Dlamini highlighted the importance of families and communities working together to raise young men who will grow up to be responsible and upstanding members of society. He stressed the significance of instilling the core values of the siSwati way: respect, peace, consideration for others, and deep love for their country.
Drawing from his personal experience, Dlamini expressed gratitude for the role that his parents, especially his father, played in shaping his life. He urged fellow men to serve as role models for boys, thereby creating a strong foundation for the future of Eswatini.
This commitment from the Eswatini Government comes at a crucial time, as the world marks the International Day of the Boy Child, according to the premier. By prioritising the development and well-being of boys, the prime minister said Government aimed to nurture a generation of responsible young men who would contribute positively to the growth and prosperity of the nation.
