MBABANE – Government, through the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, has reached the final stages of reconstructing four Tinkhundla centres around the country.
The Tinkhundla centres include Sandleni, LaMgabhi, Ndzingeni, and Kwaluseni.
This was said by Minister for Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini in his preamble, which he presented before Members of Parliament (MPs) who are members of the House of Assembly Potfolio Committee on the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development.
This was during the 2023/24 annual performance debate of the Ministry. “During the period under review, the Ministry began the reconstruction of Tinkhundla structures which were destroyed during the unrests. The Ministry has reached final stages of construction of Sandleni, LaMgabhi, Ndzingeni and Kwaluseni Tinkhundla structures,” Dlamini said.
The reconstruction includes new fencing, construction and or rehabilitation of guard houses and installation of flood lights in efforts to enhance security of the structures.
The Minister further said his Ministry, through its implementing agency, was finalising the recruitment of contractors for the reconstruction of Timphisini, Ngudzeni, Somntongo and Kukhanyeni Tinkhundla Centres. “We have requested a budget allocation to complete the reconstruction of the Tinkhundla Centres in the recently tabled budget estimates,” Dlamini said.
