MBABANE – Job opportunities.

The Ministry of Education and Training has announced that it wants to fill 100 vacant posts for deputy head teachers.

This was said by Acting Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Training Naniki Mnisi. She said the vacant posts needed to be filled urgently hence the Teaching Service Commission will conduct interviews in the coming week.

The announcement comes shortly after the government had recently advertised vacant posts for headteachers who resigned because they had found greener pastures. There were three vacancies in high school and seven in primary school.

According to government, available posts for high school head teachers are at Joppa, Lomahasha and Emphumelelweni in the Hhohho region.

In Manzini, there are posts at Mzaceni, Enhlanhleni, Nsalitje, Matseni, Ngcoseni, Mbanjane and Phumelela.

On the deputy head teacher vacancies Mnisi said 60 of the posts are for primary schools and 40 of them are for high schools.

“We will then start recruiting deputy head teachers and make sure that all schools operate at optimum capacity,” said Mnisi.

The Swaziland National Association of Teachers appreciated the government of Eswatini for acknowledging the strain placed on head teachers due to the scarcity of their duties.
