HAIRCARE COMPANY TO BRING 1 000 JOBS

MBABANE – A company specialising in haircare products is set to create 1 000 jobs in the country this year.

The company, known as Lush Haircare Eswatini, has already established itself in Eswatini and 950 people are already employed. The company is a subsidiary of Tolaram Care in Singapore. About E60 million is to be invested by this company and part of that money is believed to have been invested already.

This company deals in manufacturing and selling haircare products. The company decided to invest in Mozambique, but decided to invest in the country, after it was convinced through a compelling value to invest in Eswatini to create thousands of jobs, investing E60 million in the process.

The company is supplying it products to markets in South Africa, Mozambique, and Kenya. This is one of the three companies that were convinced by Eswatini Investment Promotions Authority (EIPA) to invest in Eswatini. These companies were already enticed by other investment authorities from other countries.

Another company that was convinced by EIPA to invest in the country was Royal Ayn. This is a company from Indonesia and it deals in trading of massage oils and spa. It is currently situated at The Gables in Ezulwini. A factory shell is already made for this company to continue producing its products for export in SADC countries.

According to a report by EIPA, this investment was made possible after His Majesty King Mswati III’s visit to Indonesia. Another company that was convinced to invest in Eswatini after having tried to invest somewhere else is Lindsay Industries.

This company is in the pharmaceutical industry and it is from Ghana. After being convinced by a nationally commissioned delegation, the company decided to invest in the country. The company is expected to produce medical drugs that will reduce dependency on foreign medical drugs. The company will further distribute its products in the entire African continent.

EIPA was established through the Eswatini Investment Promotions Act of 1998 to attract, promote and facilitate local and foreign direct investment and trade in Eswatini. The authority’s vision is to make Eswatini to be a leading trade and investment destination in the country.
