MBABANE – The Hhohho region took the lead in this year’s Junior Certificate (JC) results which were announced by the Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo today.
Nxumalo announced the much anticipated results of Form III and Grade 7. The announcement took place at a press conference called by the ministry. Manzini region took the second position, followed by Lubombo and Shiselweni respectively.
He said, The Ministry of Education and Training appreciates the hard work done by head teachers, teacher’s learners and parents during the 2023 academic year. Teachers worked tirelessly to cover the syllabus and most of our learners embraced the opportunity to learn. The ministry is grateful to teachers, head teachers and parents for their joint effort in preparing learners for the 2023 external examination.”
The minister went on to say, “This year’s candidates from 32 pilot schools also sat down for the first ever checkpoint Assessment. As you may all be aware the Checkpoint Assessment is a series of diagnostic tests to check the learning progress of learners and inform teachers about the learning needs of the learners. The Checkpoint Assessments was written by candidates in Form 2.”

Three pupils shared the top three position in the Junior Certificate 2023 (JC) they recorded 97 per cent (97%).

Manzini EPC tops other regions
Manzini topped other regions in the 2023 Eswatini Primary Certificate (EPC) with a 94.11% score followed by Shiselweni.
Sibusisiwe Ndzabandzaba (Khetsiwe Private Primary School) was announced as the best performing pupil of the 2023 Eswatini Primary Certificate (EPC) with an aggregate of 80%. The 2023 EPC results showed a national pass rate of 91.3%.
