MBABANE– “I look forward to strengthening the high-quality links that exist between the people and the Governments of our two nations. I shall devote my efforts to support a bilateral relationship based on mutual respect, understanding and friendship.”
These were sentiments, shared by the Ambassador of France to the Kingdom of Eswatini, Yann Pradeau, when he delivered his letter of credence to His Majesty King Mswati III yesterday afternoon at Lozitha Palace.
He said their President, Emmanuel Macron, had constantly been working at both multilateral and bilateral levels in order to promote peace, security, stability and sustainable development. In that regard, he said the French Government would indeed host, at the end of June 2023, a summit for a New Global Financing Pact.
His Majesty King Mswati III received letters of credence from the Republic of Zimbabwe Ambassador to Eswatini Victor Matemadanda and France Ambassador to Eswatini Yann Prdeau at Lozitha Palace.
He said this provided a lot of opportunities between the countries.
“There are a lot of opportunities for trade and economic cooperation between Eswatini and Zimbabwe. There is more room for cooperation between our two countries in information communication technology, cultural exchange and sharing of ideas for the development and prosperity of our people.
“We hope your appointment will help to strengthen our cordial relations and enhance cooperation between our two countries. We are fully aware of France’s support towards the growth and development of Africa as a whole and we look forward to continued relations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Matemadanda said it was his sincere hope that during his tour of duty in the Kingdom of Eswatini, fraternal relations between the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Kingdom of Eswatini will be enhanced and elevated to higher levels.
