JAKARTA – “His Majesty King Mswati III has met with Indonesia President H.E Joko Widodo to discuss, among other things, increased economic cooperation between Eswatini and Indonesia. The meeting took place at the Istana Merdeka Palace in Jarkata. His Majesty is in Indonesia on a working visit,” according to an official statement from Government media.
The statement goes on to reveal that:
“During the meeting, Indonesia expressed desire to assist Eswatini in the development of its energy sector. This will include exploration of opportunities available to Eswatini to make best use of its vast coal resources for beneficiation and export.
Today, His Majesty is expected to sign some Joint Cooperation Agreements with Indonesia, which will expand areas of engagement between the two countries on areas of financing infrastructure development, tourism and culture, transfer of technology and education and training.
Other areas of cooperation will include mining, agriculture, direct trade and investment, streamlined tax policies, and capacity building for peace and security.
His Majesty is also expected to attend an Eswatini-Indonesia Business Forum.”
