It is not every day that you see an award-winning musician walk into your restaurant, patrons, and fans were astonished when renowned South African Gospel star Hlengiwe Mhlaba gave them a surprise of a lifetime when she walked into eDladleni restaurant yesterday.

The Gospel star was in the Kingdom for a performance at the Makoti Festival which was on Saturday at Malkerns Country Club.

eDladleni Restaurant Manager Dolores said she felt blessed to host the gospel idol.

“Hlengiwe Mhlaba came here for lunch and she enjoyed the food so much she even bought a eDladleni recipe book. Thank you so much for coming,” said the Manager.

On another note, Hlengiwe Mhlaba was absolutely thrilled by Lutsango at the Makoti Festival.

In a video she posted on her timeline, the musician is joined by Lutsango on stage who performed the ‘Kutsamba’ dance during the Makoti Festival.

The artist is seen joining in the dance and enjoying the performance.
“I have no words for Lutsango,” said Mhlaba. Her performance during the Makoti Festival was one popular with the crowd.

Mhlaba belted out her popular songs like ‘Sewakhile’ ‘It is well’ and many others.

Meanwhile, Edladleni Restaurant is located at Lobamba, MR3, SZ Mnyamatsini, and is a restaurant that prepares and serves indigenous food.

Their purpose is to encourage the cultivation and preparation of local produce with a myriad of essential vitamins and medicinal qualities. They also aim to empower and feed people based on indigenous knowledge systems.

Hlengiwe Mhlaba is a celebrated South African gospel singer famous for her ‘Dwala Lami’ album. Her style of singing and quality of music inspires one to become more attached to Christ. Hlengiwe Mhlaba was born in KwaMashu in KwaZulu-Natal in 1973.
