MBABANE – The Ministry of Home Affairs has launched its inaugural newsletter, ‘Tasekhaya,’ a publication that celebrates the diverse cultural heritage of Eswatini.
The launch was held at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Mbabane and was graced by the presence of Minister for Home Affairs HRH Princess Lindiwe, who unveiled the first edition of the newsletter.
This newsletter aims to serve as an information centre for the public, allowing them to gain insight into the Ministry’s activities, as well as understand the requirements and fee schedules for the services offered.
Minister HRH Princess Lindiwe commended the Communications Unit of the Ministry for their diligence and hard work in producing the inaugural edition of the newsletter, ‘Tasekhaya.’
She expressed her gratitude for their dedication and emphasised the need for transparent and accessible information for the public. In addition, Princess Lindiwe stated that future editions of the newsletter would include a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section, where the public could obtain answers to common questions. The launch and publication of the first edition was a great success, and the Minister looked forward to the future of ‘Tasekhaya.’
She stressed the importance of a regular newsletter, as it provides a valuable source of information for the public. She stated that future editions would be published twice a year, in order to keep the public informed about the Ministry’s work and developments.
She emphasised the need for financial support to ensure that the newsletter reaches a wider audience across the country, and concluded by saying, ‘Let’s spread the news far and wide.’
Ministry of Home Affairs Principal Secretary (PS) Nhlanhla Nxumalo echoed the Minister’s sentiments and expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the launch of the first edition of the Tasekhaya Newsletter.
As the controlling officer of the Ministry, he stated that it was a great honour to be a part of such a momentous occasion. Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of making the newsletter readily available in all Tinkhundla centres across the country, in order to ensure that the maximum number of people could access the information it contains.
The Ministry’s Communication Officer, Mlandvo Dlamini, assured the Minister and the PS that every effort would be made to widely circulate the Tasekhaya Newsletter. He acknowledged that physical copies were limited but confirmed that at least one copy would be made available in all Tinkhundla centers, government websites, and border posts. Ministry Service Centres would also stock the newsletter, ensuring that any interested readers could access it. Additionally, the newsletter would be sent directly to Ministry employees via email, keeping them up to date on the latest developments.
