MANZINI – Big and better is how one can best describe the fifth edition of House Musiq Fest that was held at Manzini Club yesterday.
The festival this year saw a partnership with Trace TV which documented the whole festival. One of the crew members Sibu Shangase was spotted on stage with her portable equipment wearing the Trace t shirt, documenting the perfomances and activities of the day.
This year also saw the different corporate stalls, insurance and health stalls which were promised by Swazi Boy PRO Nokwanda Sibandze in a previous interview with this publication.
Tight security was also noted at the festival as they were quite a few police officers on sight as well as private security even in the parking lot.
Speaking to the Festival Director of House Musiq Fest, Mthunzi Shadow Zwane, he shared that they were quite excited with this year line up and and festivities and it was indeed bigger than previous years. Shadow as he’s affectionately known also shared that the surprise addition of South African songstress Bucie saw a spike in the tickets sales as people love her and wanted to see her performance . She was announced in the early hours of Saturday.
The attendance of the show was quite impressive from the general arena to the VIP section as well. The host Ndosh Webengunee did a stellar job coupled with jokes which comes natural as a comedian.
Locals who performed namely ;The Bishops,Crooks !Sooks, Fantacy and many more gave the patrons their money’s worth with their performances.
South African Bucie born Busisiwe Nqwiliso took over the stage just after 8pm clad in denim look highlighted by pink stilettos with a pink necklace . She took patrons down memory lane with some of her hit songs tilted, You so easy to love which was released back in 2014,and Superman.
She also shared that she has been away from music for a while, but making a comeback soon. While greeting fans on stage she shared that she was last in the country atleast five to six years ago.
KwaZulu Natal born DJ Le Soul real name Precious Mdlalose brought the festival to a stand still with her killer Afro House and Afro Tech set. She played just before Vinny Da Vinci. Her set was praised by many including the legendary Vinny Da Vinci.
Born Vincent Motshego 49 years ago Vinny was the main headliner of the fifth edition of of House Musiq Fest. He took over the decks just after 2.20am. The festival wrapped up in the early hours today.
