MBABANE – The National Maize Corporation (NMC) has received 22 knapsack sprayers as sponsorship from Industrial Development Company of Eswatini (IDCE).
In fact, the partnership between IDCE and NMC has started to yield fruits since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations which happened on August 14, 2023, to facilitate financial and technical support to farmers.
The Chief Executive Officer of IDCE, Fairlie Mabuza, promised farmers that the MoU guarantees a great reduction of chances of projects failure. “To the grain production and processing industry, this MoU will add value as it brings opportunities to install irrigation systems and enable the farmer to procure herbicide, pesticides, fertilisers and quality seeds through the IDCE funding,” said Mabuza during the signing of the MoU.
The Donated knapsack sprayers is going to serve in spraying the pesticides and insecticides that were mentioned and it was gathered that they are to be given to farmers who have supplied NMC with maize.
IDCE congratulated the winners of NMC Farmers Awards and also appreciated the progress made in implementing the recently signed MoU.
