MBABANE– Two days after the MTN Bushfire Festival, Young Zesh’s performance at the Ballantines stage is still the talk of the town.
When brought in for an interview, sourced from what he said on stage to a crowd of over 2000, the local Hip Hop artist mentioned that he was proud of his country.
“I’m proud of my country, the love they show to my talent, music and everything I do is amazing. I know people who would die for me,” he said.
This was Young Zesh’s first time performing on the MTN Bushfire stage and he sure did, garner a good crowd.
He was mostly praised and congratulated by International crowds who had gathered around the Ballantines stage to witness his first time.
His Bacolele hit was a major hit, with everyone at the arena.
Earlier this year, Young Zesh broke the internet after releasing the much-anticipated visuals of ‘Bacolele’.
The song is currently sitting on over 6 000 streams across all streaming platforms, including YouTube and Tik Tok.
Musician and songwriter Young Zesh started the year on good note; when he released his first ever project this year, already setting the tone for the year he is going to have.
Born Mzwandile Ginindza, he has also gone double as his song was accompanied by the music video currently making waves among emaSwati and internationally.
Young Zesh’s ‘Bacolele’, according to him, was inspired by him losing out of his 2022 Eswatini Social Media Awards held last year in December.
The song addresses his disappointment in not getting a gong for his hard work; his lyrics further address the unfair treatment they are subjected to as artists during events.
When speaking to the singer he said the song was produced by Chaboy at Rare Jams Records in Matsapha.
The artist has expressed that he was not expecting the video to break such grounds in the entertainment industry. However, he appreciated the production team of the video as well as Upscale Live Record Label.
“I am grateful to Upscale, Producer Motion Skies, and everybody who made this video happen. I was not expecting this video to move the way it is, shout out to everyone who is watching the video, shout out to Eswatini as well as the movement,” said Young Zesh.
In addition, the artist said he was excited about the music video and the potential it had, he said he hoped emaSwati would share the same sentiments since he worked with the best video director in the kingdom which was not the first time working with him. It seems people in the country love the music video as they have been praising both the song and the visuals.
