MBABANE– “Yes, I’m going to be running for Parliament- I’m ready to serve again,”
These were Madlangempisi Member of Parliament Sibusiso ‘Scorpion’ Nxumalo’s sentiments. He said nothing is standing in his way so far so he should be running for Parliament and hopes to get another chance.
Worth noting is that His Majesty King Mswati III opened the 5th session of the 11th Parliament last month, and Parliament sessions have since begun. Nxumalo said he had a lot planned for his constituency and bringing more change.
“When the King opened Parliament, he sent us to make sure we bring change and work hard. He acknowledged us as MPs for the good work we have done despite the challenges we faced in our term,” he said.
In March last year, arsonists set alight a house belonging to Nxumalo in the early hours of that fateful morning.
Occupants, including children, were allegedly removed from the house before it was set alight. The house is situated at Nkambeni.
This challenge and setback have not changed Nxumalo’s wish to serve His Majesty King Mswati III, as he has emphasised running for Parliament.
In April last year, Minister-counsellor Oliver Harn led Taiwan Medical Mission to visit the hometown of Honourable Nxumalo, serving 292 patients living in this constituency. This was one of many benefits he brought to his community, he has also been doing hard work to promote art and talent in Mandlangempisi by bringing in sports games.
