MBABANE – Makhungutja Primary school pupils will now have access to improved sanitation facilities during their learning days.
This comes after the successful handover of a brand new facility with 12 toilets at the school on Tuesday (June 11, 2024). This was made possible through the Ambassador’s Special Self Help program, a unique program which fosters partnership between the U.S. Embassy and communities around Eswatini.
As stated in their social media page, an award of E148 000 was contributed by the U.S. Embassy and over 380 pupils, 15 teachers and support staff will benefit from this development. Additionally, these facilities will also benefit more than a thousand parents and community members who use this school for meetings and events.
Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Jolanta Mikiewicz stated that the Government of Eswatini and the United States have a long history of partnership in the field of community development. The U.S. Government is proud to assist community groups in developing projects that improve the quality of life especially for children.
