MBABANE – Lilima Montessori High students thrilled yesterday at the first day of their “Imvula: The Blood Rain” play showing.
The play, which was hosted at the Eswatini Theatre Club in Mbabane, had two initial showings yesterday, one in the morning and one in the evening – and there will be one more showing at the 6PM today.
Speaking about the themes of the play, Ncaba Tsela who is the Drama and Arts teacher at Lilima Montessori High, urged the public to come see it.
“After a lot of misfortunes and drought in the land, will the rains eventually come? …And at what cost? Imvula is not only a dance and poetic spectacle, it is an enthralling African story of how humanity fell to chaos after Eden sank to grief,” said Tsela about the play.
“The public should see the play because it shows how art, especially theatre, can make children happy, creative, and independent individuals who are ready to tackle anything. As an inclusive school, the play also highlights that all students are capable, smart, and unique in their own special way. No student is left out in the play as all participate according to their strengths,” said Tsela.
The first showing of “Imvula” was yesterday in the morning, as well as in the evening.
“The first show, which was at 11:00 AM yesterday was well received by the audience which was mostly students from other schools,” revealed Tsela.
