LUDZIDZINI– The main Incwala dance event kicked off today and saw all roads leading to the Ludzidzini Royal Resisence.
Businesses were not left out of the country’s one and only annual traditional prayer and thanksgiving festival. Seen during the event were a number of small businesses who were providing different services.
The business stalls included vendors providing food, traditional accessories, as well as photographers which were supporting the cultural event.
Speaking to Eswatini Positive News, one of the vendors, Nqobile Radebe, noted that the day started slow, expressing hope that business will continue to pick up as the day kept going.
“We were sold out of everything by the end of Lusekwane, so we hope that this repeats by the end of the festival today”, said Make Radebe.
Her words were echoed by Make Nkhosi who was selling food at the event.
“At Lusekwane I made the most money towards the end of the event, so I hope it will be the same this time around as I see business picking up with time”, said Make Nkhosi.
Also present during the event was the Red Cross Baphalali organisation as well as Ambulances to provide health services.
Red Cross Field Officer Celani Malaza said that they served over 2,000 people during the event.
“We provided people with water as well as rehydration solutions. Our estimates are that we served over 2000 people’s today, we will confirm the final number after we finish helping people today”, said Malaza.
The Incwala main festival was also attended by diplomats from different missions in the Kingdom, including South Africa, Taiwan, and the European Union.
