MBABANE – It is important for members of the Lutsango regiment to always work cooperatively to help one another.
This was said by Her Majesty the Indlovukazi on Saturday when delivering her speech during the second session of the Buganu Ceremony that is currently ongoing at Hlane Royal Residence.
Indlovukazi said during these tough times, working together as women would be good because it would be easy for them to overcome any challenge they faced. Indlovukazi warned Lutsango against depending on outside assistance, while they did nothing.
She said Lutsango should stop being bo zini khamisa, which is a SiSwati terms used to refer to someone who always expect outside assistance. This genesis of this term stems from a hatchling (lizini), which cannot do anything for itself, always depending on a bird (which has given birth to it) to do everything for it.
Indlovukazi also expressed gratitude to men for always allowing their wives to attend such events. She said the men had the power to not allow the women to attend, but instead, chose to allow them to attend.
The Queen Mother also thanked Lutsango (women) from outside the country, who also chose to participate in the event and to showcase their culture in front of Their Majesties. The Indlovukazi said it was part of the culture of Africans to come together and showcase their different cultures when a certain nation had an event.
