MBABANE– Smooth Crossover!

The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) has given a sum of E7 000 towards the Mega Crossover dubbed ‘Inshiselo Inamandla’.

The crossover is set to be a 24-hour outdoor event and will be held in the Shiselweni region tomorrow.

When sought for comment Vusi Nkambule from ENCA stated that they were approached by the crossover’s organiser.

“They wrote to us and asked for help with the sound system which they needed for their event. We responded to that plea and sponsored the E7 000 to aid towards the sound system.

“We have a mandate we stand by as in 2019 the council launched regional sponsorships aimed to transferring authority and responsibility for public functions from the central government to subordinate or quasi-independent government organisations and or the private sector.

The line-up for the Mega Crossover includes top local musicians like Sands, DJ Mbo, Young Zesh, Shiba and the Travellers and many more and has other activities including a mega shisanyama, talent search competitions, children’s games and motivational speeches,

According to event organiser Menziwokuhle Mthethwa, he said that he was very appreciative of the support he has received from the arts and culture.

“The event would not be the same without good quality sound and we are really grateful for the assistance the council has given us to ensure we have a smooth crossover.

Mthethwa further revealed that the Mega Crossover team aimed at assisting Shiselweni communities. “Part of our event proceeds will go towards disadvantaged communities in the Shiselweni region. Our aim is to unite the people of Shiselweni annually and unearth hidden talent in the region by finding raw talent and giving a platform to,” said Mthethwa.
