MBABANE- The Investor Relations Committee has applauded the Central Bank of Eswatini for taking the time to investigate investment schemes.

This was communicated by Norman Dlamini, Chairman of the committee, this morning on EBIS.

Dlamini is one of the many Emaswati who lost E340 million that had been invested in hoping that they would make lucrative interest.

Dlamini was appointed as chairman of the committee in 2022.

He disclosed that they meet once a month at ESW offices to discuss if there were any leads on the money they lost.

“This issue of not getting our invested money started in the month of June 2022 which is when the committee was formed. We then hired a forensic auditor called John Darley and he presented a report that revealed there was a problem. We would also like to thank the Central Bank of Eswatini for assigning other auditors to find out where the money goes and how can the members access their investments. The committee is yet to receive the report from CBE because the auditing is still ongoing,” said Dlamini.

Dlamini stated that while they are waiting for the CBE report, they are also working to address what was discovered in the report by Darley because there are certain individuals that had a hand in the lost investments.

“As we speak the matter is now in the hands of the court,” he said.
