MBABANE –The Inyatsi Construction Company has set its investment goals to dominate Africa, with the aim to improve trade and economy between Eswatini and SADC countries.
Speaking today in the morning breakfast show with EBIS 1 and Eswatini TV, Inyatsi Construction CEO Derrick Shiba first thanked His Majesty King Mswati III for his First World Status vision which he said set the tone for the company to expand to newer markets. Already, the company is doing business in 11 countries and has recently been granted two contracts for major developments in Uganda and Somaliland.
Shiba went on to thank the Chairman of the company Mitchello Shakantu for making it possible for the company to operate towards the King’s vision.
“I would state that for the past six months, Inyatsi has recorded huge growth, and it is now operating in 11 countries where a revenue of over E2 billion has been generated. This is good and positive for the country following that the company is based in Eswatini,” Shiba said.
He further explained that the Ugandan tender of the dam construction will cost E500 million and will also help the inhabitants of that country through water supply programs. Speaking about the Inyatsi Mozambican project that cost about E288 million, Shiba explained that the project is under the N4 track that joins SA and Mozambique hence it will help improve the transportation of goods between the two countries while improving trade.
Speaking about the Inyatsi Somaliland project, Shiba said about 3000 people will directly benefit from the project. This project cost E500 million for the construction of a state of the art mall market.
In Malawi, Shiba disclosed that Inyatsi has just finished constructing a laboratory where during the handover the company was also granted another project by Illovo for the irrigation system. This project cost E300 million and will start in August.
“We were also granted another tender at Dzenga for the construction of a water system and installation of pipes to homesteads. Many people will benefit from this water project,” he said.
In conclusion, Shiba stated Inyatsi team has been capacitated to adapt to the various environments in Africa. He said the company is well equipped and competent, making it the best.
Shiba said they were hoping to expand investments to even more countries in Africa, targeting 20 to 30.
“In terms of employment, we apply the same strategy we use in Eswatini where we hire community members to work on our projects. As we speak, we have sent over 500 Emaswati to the 11 countries we do business in, they train the community members and share skills,” he said. Currently, the company has expanded its operations in Africa into countries including South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia, Somali, Malawi and Uganda to name a few.
