MBABANE– Yielding good results!
Phase one of the Incubation Program under Junior Achievement (JA) has yielded good results in creating business opportunities for the youth in the country.
The Incubation Centres takes the youth under their wing and help them start their own businesses and also gives them a space where they can showcase their wares.
The Marketing and Communications Specialist for Junior Achievement (JA), Siphesihle Mkhonta, has revealed that the second phase of the program is to be launched soon.
“The Incubation centers are the youth’s offices for their businesses because renting could be very expensive for them. They have access to the internet which helps them market their product and also get ideas from other youth doing similar projects.
“We will be launching phase two of the program where we are looking to have 160 youth join the program. We have partnered with UNICEF and will have all 160 students equipped with skills,” said Mkhonta.
Mkhonta further mentioned that 60 of the joining youth are from Manzini.
“There will be 60 youth from the 160 who will be from the Manzini region at Ludzeludze. The program had already been started last year and computers have been installed for the youth who already have businesses. We will officially launch this in short order,” said Mkhonta.
Mkhonta also said that anyone who wanted to see or support the youth would be easily able to do so.
“If you want to support them they will be found at the youth center at Ludzeludze. It is helpful to have them at the centers because sponsors would like for them to be more accessible and also makes marketing their wares easier,” said the Marketing and Communications Specialist.
