MBABANE – Jumbo goes digital

Philanthropist and entrepreneur Jumbo Khumalo will launch his online magazine on January 31.

Khumalo made the announcement today on his social media platforms, where he also unveiled the team behind the magazine. It is worth mentioning that Jumbo boasts over 55 000 followers on Facebook. He is also an MC, influencer, author, columnist, mentor, and founder of the Jumbo Festival.

The magazine, titled See You at the Top Magazine, will go live at the end of the month. It will prioritise covering the stories and news of festivalgoers. Its main focus of content is lifestyle, fashion, and business.

When reached for comment, Jumbo, as he is affectionately known, said, “See You at the Top Magazine is a new concept, and it is part of my goals for 2024. The publication will be digital, and this is because our main target audience is the youth, and young people are on the screens of their phones 90% of the time.”

When asked why he decided on going digital as opposed to traditional media, he said, “Another reason why it will be digital is because we don’t have the capital to print hard copies of the magazine, but we know people are on their phones. All people need to do is purchase data or have access to Wi-Fi to read the magazine,” shared Khumalo.

He went on to say, “It has always been my dream to own a publication. As a matter of fact, I once attempted to launch it two years ago, but it failed because I didn’t have the capital to make it a success back then. I believe I have grown into an established brand now, fit enough to shoulder the concept.”

According to Khumalo, See You at the Top Magazine is an extension of the Jumbo Festival concept, and the slogan for the festival is “See You at the Top.” Hence, he decided to name the magazine after the festival’s slogan. The name is a motivational tagline that encourages people to work their way to the top of their different careers.
