MBABANE – Good things take time.
The statement above refers a statement by Khole Tshabalala after the completion of her two-year album.
Tshabalala will grace The Jazz Gallery hosted Theatre Club stage after completing her two year album.
The artist under New Life Entertainment released a new single ‘Nguwe’ last month and is ready to let you taste more of what she has been cooking in studio.
The Jazz Gallery will be held at the Swaziland Theatre Club in Mbabane on December 23, 2022 at 7pm.
During an interview, the musician and poet revealed she was pleased about the upcoming performance.
“Jazz is a genre I resonate with and draw inspiration from which is why I am really pleased about performing at the Jazz Gallery. I enjoy the relaxed feel and soulful aesthetics of it,” said the musician.
Tshabalala further mentioned she would be giving emaSwati a taste of what she has been working on in studio and kept her from being on stage all this time.
“I have been focused and working on my album and I have not been able to be on stage much because of that. I was last on stage earlier this year at the MTN Bushfire Festival and so the Jazz Gallery will be a place where I let people hear what I have been working on.
“I released my single ‘Nguwe’ in November and I have been receiving positive feed-back so far.
“I feel that we actually need more of Jazz shows because Jazz is a genre that highlights the beauty, space and appreciation of artists. It also brings together great musicians from Eswatini and South Africa. It also serves as a platform where live musicians thrive and also has an organic sound,” said Tshabalala.
During an interview, event organiser Nelisa Lawton, said the Jazz Gallery events have been running since 2004 and that this one would be the last gig being hosted this year.
The Jazz Gallery have hosted a number of artists on their stage including Lefa Mosea, Mandisa Jantjies,Tlale Makhene, Nana Magagula, Rhodalia, A Million O’clock and McCoy Mrubata just to name a few.
