LOBAMBA – His Majesty the King has commended parliamentarians for their achievement and great progress in the socio-economic spectrum.
The King made the congratulatory statement when officially opening the 5th session of the 11th parliament today.
“Today marks the final chapter for members of the 11th parliament. We take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution that our legislators made through engaging in robust debates aimed at improving the lives of our people,” stated the king.
He stated that much has been achieved and great progress has been made across a wide spectrum of our socio-economic landscape.
“…as you carried out your oversight role to the best of your capabilities. We commend you for living up to the task entrusted to you by a nation that continues to enjoy its unique democratic right to direct representation,” he said.
The head of state further urged politicians to complete their term by working closely with their constituencies and the government to strengthen unity, promote peaceful coexistence, and prioritize national interests.
