MBABANE– His Majesty King Mswati III has repeatedly showed liking for sciences.
Despite being the driver behind Eswatini’s Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP), the Eswatini Head of State verified his interest in sciences by touring the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).
In the company of Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati LaMotsa, the King excitedly toured the QSTP in Doha on the side-line of the 5th United Nations (UN) Conference on the Least Developed Countries #LDC5.
The QSTP provides a free zone and technology park that hosts leading global tech companies, mentors and supports a network of start-ups and rising tech ventures, and has a value chain of acceleration, incubation, and funding programmes.
During the conference, His Majesty said middle-income countries also needed financial support in order to address several socio-economic challenges that have seen these countries facing similar challenges as least developed countries (LDCs).
His Majesty also said several middle-income countries had experienced a massive reduction in development aid assistance, “amidst a plethora of challenges, namely; natural disasters, conflicts, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
