KING ‘ENDORSES’ MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS

MBABANE- His Majesty King Mswati III yesterday at Hlane Royal Residence thanked the Ministry of Home Affairs staff for the orderly and smooth presentation of gift hampers to the Lutsango regiment. 

The King was impressed and voiced out that the improved collection points were the highlight of his Buganu Festival experience.

His Majesty acknowledged that the Ministry did its best to distribute the hampers evenly.

However, a few could not receive as a result of the fast-growing numbers of the regiment.  Additionally, His Majesty encouraged the growth in numbers every year and hoped that the Ministry responsible shall also consider the growing numbers in their plans.

To ensure order and smooth distribution, the Ministry of Home Affairs came out with an online distribution system which was powered by MTN Eswatini.

The online distribution system was first to be utilised in National events and was a huge success on the ground. However, a post-mortem will be conducted soon to see if it can be utilised in the future.

Only Government Ministries and Corporates were used as a sample for the project. Nonetheless, the Ministry embraced Technology for smooth operations in the future.

His Majesty King Mswati III further praised Lutsango for attending the second session of the 2023 Buganu National Ceremony in high numbers. His Majesty was addressing throngs of the Lutsango regiment in a song and dance at Hlane Royal Residence on Saturday.

The King encouraged Lutsango to attend national events in numbers because it is another way to relax, engage and share ideas with others and forge unity among each other.

Moreover, the King thanked Lutsango for the respect shown throughout the event and maintained that emaSwati must continue to embrace it as they are identified through it.

Inhlonipho yintfo yawo emaSwati. As the country will be holding elections this year, to go vote in numbers and make sure you elect other women, special cases are discouraged this year. I trust Lutsango has utilised this gathering to market themselves for the upcoming elections,” said Ingwenyama.

On another hand, Her Majesty the Indlovukazi thanked Lutsango for all sorts of gifts presented on Friday which included agricultural products, Buganu and different types of executive dishes.

She further urged Lutsango to use agriculture as a means to fight hunger, the Queen reminded Lutsango that events like this were presented by the late King Sobhuza II to unite the nation and engage on pertinent issues of life and growth.
