MBABANE – His Majesty King Mswati III has extended the terms of office of eight Emabandla.
This has been issued today by Attorney General (AG) Sifiso Khumalo, through a notice titled, ‘The Term of Office of Councils, Commissions, Boards, and other Bodies (Extension) Notice.’ The extension has been with effect from April 12, 2024 and the extension will be in effect until further notice.
Lubombo Regional Administrator Themba Msibi hailed His Majesty the King for extending their term of office. “All I can say is, Bayethe! to the King for extending our term of office,” Msibi said. Other members of the Emabandla, who were contacted by this publication, preferred not to comment, as they had not heard about the matter at the time of compiling the report.
Liqoqo Chairman Paul Dlamini preferred not to comment on the matter, without getting into further detail. Ludzidzini Council Chairman Chief Mdlaka Gamedze and Member Prince Gcokoma also preferred not to comment, stating that they had not heard anything on the matter. Manzini Regional Administrator Prince Gija and Liqoqo member Prince Jabhane (Siphocosini Chief) could not be reached for comment, as their cell phones were off.
