MBABANE– His Majesty King Mswati III’s trip to the United Kingdom is yielding good results.
Yesterday, the Eswatini Head of State met with Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland, where they held private talks. Among other issues discussed during the candid talks was the upcoming national elections to be held later this year.
According to a communique sent by the Government of Eswatini, His Majesty the King explained in detail how Eswatini elections are conducted and how Government and its structures were formed from constituency level up to Cabinet.
They further discussed both political and economic developments within the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Commonwealth Leaders Summit, where issues affecting the youth were discussed, as well as the programmes lined up to assist developing countries.
“The Secretary-General informed the King that the Commonwealth was available to assist the Kingdom of Eswatini in various programmes, including repeating their pledge to support His Majesty to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and the economy,” read the communique.
