MANKAYANE – Facilities such as factory shells, tourism sites, sports pavilion, and a shopping centre will be set up in Mankayane.
His Majesty King Mswati III said he was notified of such facilities when delivering his speech during his birthday celebrations at Mankayane Sports Ground today. The King said these development initiatives would add to the developments that had already taken place at the town, since he last celebrated his birthday there in 1995.
The King said all these initiatives had a potential of creating jobs for some of Emaswati. He said what was also encouraging was that Government planned of decentralising some of its key services to the Mankayane sub region.
According to the King, Mankayane offered numerous opportunities for various opportunities such as agriculture, given it conducive climate. He said Mankayane also had an advantage of having proximity to border posts such as Sicunusa, Gege, and Mahamba, which enabled people from outside the country to access the town.
