MBABANE – The venue to be used to host His Majesty King Mswati III’s 56th Birthday will be ready by April 17.
This is according to information sourced from Government’s Facebook page. This means the venue will be ready by next week Wednesday, two days before the celebration takes place. The King’s Birthday was announced to be held at Mankayane Sports Ground. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini had today gone to assess the readiness of the venue.
He was informed that the Ministries of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport have projected that the venue would be ready by April 17. The prime minister went to assess the readiness of the venue with Cabinet ministers.
They include Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla, Minister for Education and Training Owen Nxumalo, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pholile Shakantu, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Apollo Maphalala, Minister for Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe, Minister for Public Works and Transport Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe, Minister for Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, among others.
Ngwempisi Member of Parliament (MP) Bhekibandla Vilakati (whose constituency includes Mankayane) was among the people who welcomed the premier. The small business people of Mankayane also had a feel of what it would be like for them during the event, as the prime minister and some Government officials were seen buying some fruits from them during the assessment of the venue.
Ministry of Home Affairs Communications Officer Mlandvo Dlamini pointed out during his interview today on Eswatini TV that one of the benefits for the people of Mankayane was that their businesses would boom during the event, as many people would be at that place.
