MBABANE – KrTC Delivers at SYP 10th Anniversary Celebration, 3rd Ability Expo in Botswana.
The Safeguard Young People (SYP) 10th Anniversary Celebration, held at the Botswana Arts and Craft Market in Gaborone last week, marked a significant milestone in the journey towards empowering youth across the region.
KrTC, born Thamsanqa Sibandze, is an SYP Artist Ambassador, who was among the distinguished lineup of performers and delegates. He shone brightly with his engaging performances and active participation in the festivities.
KrTC, alongside fellow SYP artists Zeus (Botswana), Bryan K (Zimbabwe), Gwamba (Malawi), King TeeDee (Namibia), and Stlofa (Lesotho), captivated the audience with renditions of the SYP campaign soundtracks ‘We Will’ and ‘Give Me a Chance’. Their electrifying performances echoed the spirit of unity and empowerment that defines the SYP movement, resonating with attendees from across the region.
In addition to his stellar performances, KrTC took on the honour of presenting two prestigious awards during the ceremony. These awards recognised and celebrated countries that excelled in implementing key performance areas for the SYP Programme, highlighting the outstanding efforts and achievements of dedicated individuals and teams.
Beyond the anniversary celebration, KrTC joined the regional delegation for the 3rd annual Ability Expo held at Baisago University. The Ability Expo provides a platform for young people with disabilities to showcase their diverse talents and capabilities. By highlighting the achievements and potential of young people with disabilities, the Expo aims to challenge societal perceptions and promote inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities.
KrTC’s involvement in the Ability Expo underscores the importance of recognising and embracing the abilities of all individuals, regardless of disability. His participation not only showcased his unwavering commitment to inclusivity and empowerment but also served as a powerful reminder of the potential that lies within every individual, regardless of their circumstances.
As we celebrate a decade of the Safeguard Young People Programme, events like the Anniversary Celebration and the Ability Expo serve as poignant reminders of the progress we’ve made and the journey that lies ahead. With dedicated individuals like KrTC leading the charge, the future of youth empowerment and inclusivity in the region looks brighter than ever before.
