MBABANE– The past Sunday saw Kusekhaya Cycling conquering the lowveld!
This was at the Kusekhaya Lowveld Invitational, where cyclists from the above mentioned cycling group spread theirs wings and filled the roads of the said parts of the country.
Cyclists across the different age groups challenged themselves and rode different distances.
This happened through the support of sponsors- MulaSport, Viva Beverages, Multipurpose Distributors, Mormond Electrical Contractors, MAQ Enterprises, Sun Express and Rival Visuals.
The Eswatini Cycling Association applauded the club for taking the bold step of hosting an official race.
When sought for comment, the President of the Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA), Zwide Ndwandwe, said the event was an indication of the club’s intentions to make a meaningful contribution to the development of cycling in the country.
“As ECA, we are pleased with the progression we are seeing from Kusekhaya Cycling and them taking the bold step to hosting a race is definitely a sign of growth. It was a well-organised race and well-attended. We are looking forward to this becoming one of the biggest races in the region. Thank you to all the cyclists, sponsors, media, police, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and everyone else involved in making the race a success. Well done Kusekhaya Cycling,” said the president of the club.
Worth noting is that over a week ago, some members of the Kusekhaya cycling club were part of the cyclists who took part in the Amashova Durban Classic 2022.
