MBABANE– A newly-established Neighbourhood Care Point (NPC) is currently under construction at LaMgabhi.
It is safe to say that 2023 is off to a good start for All Out Africa Foundation who are constructing their ninth NPC this year.
“Local community members and volunteers have committed to see the new NCP at LaMgabhi complete. Their dedication to constructing an informal preschool for orphaned and vulnerable children in this community will help the children receive basic education.
“A special thanks to our volunteers, partners, team and LaMgabhi community for helping us achieve this goal,” said Building Coordinator Michael Mkhonta.
Neighbourhood Care Points (NCPs) are part soup kitchens and part informal preschools established to feed and provide daycare and early childhood education for orphaned and vulnerable children.
The All Out Africa Foundation runs eight (8) NCPs in Eswatini in partnership with the communities within which they are established.
These include Mvutjini, Ezulwini, Mlindazwe, Elangeni, Ekuzekekeni, Nkhanini, Mahlanya and Bethany. All these NCPs generally consist of at least one classroom, a kitchen, a storeroom, two toilets, a playground and a vegetable garden. Each NCP has a teacher and cook who are volunteers from the community.
