MBABANE – Days for Girls, an international non-profit organisation, partnered with students from the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) to donate reusable sanitary pads to the SOS Primary School yesterday.
This initiative aimed to provide sustainable hygiene solutions for girls in need, and to promote education and empowerment for young and girls and boys.
Days for Girls Ambassador Musa Dlamini spoke about the organisation’s mission and the work they do to empower women and girls through education and sustainable hygiene solutions.
Dlamini explained that the Days for Girls kits are reusable, making them an environmentally friendly and affordable option for women and girls in need.
The kits include all the materials needed for safe and hygienic personal care. He stated that Days for Girls is a non-profit organisation, and that the kits are available at an affordable price in their organisation.
Dlamini said that the organisation was able to donate 90 kits to the SOS Primary School, which would provide students with much-needed resources.
He also explained that Days for Girls has a program called Men Who Know, which aims to educate boys about personal development and the importance of understanding and respecting women’s menstrual health.
The program aims to break down gender stereotypes and taboos around menstruation, and to foster a culture of respect and understanding between boys and girls.
SOS Primary School Principal Linda Tfwala, expressed gratitude for the donation and the impact it would have on the students. Tfwala noted that the students were excited to receive the kits and were looking forward to future initiatives from Days for Girls.
He expressed his hope that the kits would provide long-term benefits for the students, and that the program would continue to have a positive impact on the school community.
