MBABANE– Lindz was celebrated by artists for being influential and inspirational to many artists in Eswatini Radio.

Lindz, real name real Lindelwa Mafa, has been a radio host for the 18 years, SWAMA Vice President and Swazi Rhythm Founder. SWAMA is the acronym from Eswatini Music and Arts Association.

Artist Manager, Larry Mhlanga took to his social media to post Inspire Wednesday, whereby every Wednesday an inspirational personality is praised for their inspiring work.

“Lindz has played a huge role in promoting local music from playing Demos and un-mastered music on Air in the name of promoting local music.

“She would receive 100 CDs daily by EBIS reception wrapped in newspapers, some on envelopes with no proper labels and flash drives with no tracklist and lack of a Music Compiler in the Station.

“All that never tempered with her role in promoting local talent which she keeps doing day in and day out,” said Mhlanga.

Lindz revealed she was always on the lookout for new local music.

“I am always on the lookout for new local fresh music- always, anywhere, anytime, if there is a record that is where you will find me. I created Swazi Rhythm Portal because l could not reach everyone’s music.

“Quality music is my motto and it shines in my ability to deliver outstanding fresh new music and topics every time I am on duty (verbatim),” said Mafa.

Local musician Lumka Simelane, who has had an opportunity to meet her, has attested to her commitment, discipline, straightforwardness and love for local products be it clothing, music, fashion and talents.

“I met DJ Lindz when she was volunteering her time and influence as the SWAMA Vice President and establishing Swazi Rhythm a one-stop-shop platform meant to promote local artists free of charge where any artists can submit their music and EPK to be part of the portal. “This has enabled a lot of upcoming musicians to have a chance to have their music played on the radio,” said musician Lumka Simelane.
