This is Bonginkosi Gumbi, who graduated with a PhD from the University of Florida in the United States of America (USA). Gumbi, who will now be referred to as Doctor, graduated in a PhD in Genomics and he revealed the graduation ceremony on his Facebook account yesterday.
According to Wikipedia, genomics is an interdisciplinary field of biology focusing on the structure, function, evolution, mapping, and editing of genomes- a genome is an organism’s complete set of DNA, including all of its genes.
“I’m so proud to have come from a small village #eVusweni, Eswatini, and graduated with a Ph.D. in #genomics from one of the best universities in the US #universityofflorida #phdjourney. “ aw!!! nawe Vusweni awumncinyana,” said Gumbi (verbatim).
The University of Florida, where Gumbi just graduated, has, for the second time in a row, taken a place among the United States’ top five public universities.
This came out in the US News and World Report 2023 under Best College rankings. This reaffirmed the University of Florida’s status as an academic powerhouse.
Gumbi could not be reached for comment by the time this article was being compiled today at 11am.
