MBABANE – The debut MoMo Xperience has also given three local artists centre stage by adding them to the line-up.
The first edition of the show will be held at Malkerns Country Club on June 22, 2024.
The three locals who will perform at the first edition of the show are DJ MBO, Young Zesh, and Trend Twins. The addition of the trio was confirmed by the festival director, Culolami Dlamini, on Friday last week (May 17, 2024).
He said, “Get ready to vibe to hip-hop and afro-pop music in your language with the award-winning hit maker Young Zesh! Famous for his hit song #KaKhoza, Young Zesh will be performing at The MoMo Xperience, as well as Trend Twins, who are the best Afro House duo in the land. They will kill it on the decks while dancing the night away during their sets. Catch the energetic Swati International DJs live and finally catch the soul saver, DJ MBO, as he delivers beats that will make you move, music that will put you in the groove.”
On the other hand, DJ MBO, real name Mbongeni Sithungo, said, “I would like to thank the organisers of the MoMo Xperience for trusting my brand for the first edition of the show. There were many other DJs they could have gone with, but they chose me. I am grateful that they trusted me to be part of the debut show. “He went on to promise patrons that he would definitely deliver a ‘killer’ set and that people should come in their numbers. They will not regret it.”
The trio joins South African R&B Singer, Performer, and Songwriter Ami Faku, who will be the headliner for the debut MoMo Xperience show. The award-winning songstress will grace the MoMo Xperience stage alongside a live band.
According to Dlamini, the MoMo Xperience is a day-long fun-filled show with music and arts renditions by both local and international artists, where arts meet financial innovation. During the event, patrons will be able to enjoy using the MoMo ecosystem, making unlimited purchases and additional transactions, cashless.
