MBABANE – Lomkhosi Magagula is the new executive director of the Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration Commission (CMAC).
This was announced by minister of Labour and Social Security Phila Buthelezi during a media briefing held at the Ministry of Labour this afternoon.
Magagula replaces Makhosazana Khoza who passed on in January this year due to COVID-19 related illness. For eight months, CMAC did not have a director.
Khoza tested positive for COVID-19 a day after her wedding, which took place on December 19, 2020 at the Royal Swazi Convention Centre.
“We welcome the newly appointed Executive Director especially in such a time where there are various labour disputes caused by COVID-19 and the national protests,” the minister said.
“We are especially excited in the promotion of gender equality in the workplace, as you lead the team especially in reviewing the Industrial Relations Act 2000 as amended, among others,” he said.
