MBABANE – Pigg’s Peak, are you ready for Nkabination First Lady?
South African Afro-pop singer Lwa Dlunkulu will be the headliner at The Subway Restaurant on Saturday. She will not be alone, but with Mbanqanga queen, Dr. Buselaphi, who is also from SA.
The Subway Restaurant is housed under the new building, which is located next to the Pigg’s Peak bus rank.
This was confirmed by one of the organisers of the show, Banele Dlamini, with Thando Simelane from the Subway Restaurant. The show, dubbed Easter Night with Lwa Ndlukunulu and Dr. Buselaphi, is scheduled to kick off at 6pm until the next day. The MCs will be Slitchie and Lisah. Local supporting acts are Culolami, DJ Cruise, DJ Nibz, ESK, and DJ Various.
Lwa Ndlunkulu, born Lwandile Mtshali, is a singer and songwriter from Hluhluwe in KwaZulu Natal. She is signed to Nkabi Records. She is also known as the Nkabination First Lady. She released her debut single, titled Ithuba, which became her first biggest song and was certified platinum by the recording industry in South Africa.
Dr. Buselephi, also known as the Queen of Maskandi music, was born in Nongoma, KwaZulu Natal. She was once in a band called Imithente, which was signed to Gallo Records and went on to release 13 albums. Her solo career took off in 2005 with her album titled Thwa’inco while still with the group, and she released three albums. She is famous for the genres of Amahubo, Imigqigqo, and Inzinkondlo zomakoti.
Pre-sale tickets to the show cost E100, E150 at the door, and VIP tickets are E1000. Cooler box is allowed at midnight for E100.
