MBABANE – The youth of Macetjeni Umphakatsi are encouraged to broaden their horizons and consider the possibilities of entrepreneurship, instead of viewing formal employment as the only path to success.
This was said by Prince Mshengu, who was speaking at the official launch of Sikanyekanye Mentorship Network (SMN) on Thursday (April 4, 2024) at Macetjeni Umphakatsi.
According to SMN Programme Coordinator Felicity Mabuza, the message was delivered during the Career Guidance Expo, which was hosted by SMN in an effort to empower young people with information and resources for their future.
Mabuza said the Career Guidance Expo was designed to reach out to school leavers, who have recently completed high school or tertiary education, as well as those who have dropped out of school, and those who are seeking direction in their career or study path. The aim of the Expo was to provide information, challenge assumptions, inspire hope, and give direction to those at a critical juncture in their lives.
SMN is a vision brought to life by Prince Mshengu to address the needs of young people in the community who are seeking guidance and mentorship in the areas of career, community service, and entrepreneurship.
SMN is based at Macetjeni Umphakatsi, and its services are designed to help address the economic challenges, skills gaps, and educational barriers that young people face in Eswatini.
The Prince and Inkhosikati Make La Monareng have also pledged their full support for the youth, promising to provide guidance and mentorship every step of the way. They recognised the challenges that young people face in today’s world, and are committed to helping them navigate these challenges and reach their full potential.
