MBABANE– The Easter spirit is already up in the air!
Adding excitement to this year’s Easter weekend, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the extension of their border operating hours.
This announcement was sent out today by the Principal Secretary in the Ministry, Nhlanhla Nxumalo, who said the Ministry of Home Affairs was pleased to notify all cross-border travellers and the public at large that Mahamba, Matsamo and Mananga ports of entry would extend hours during the Easter period.
On April 6, the Mananga Border Post will operate from 7am and 12am instead of 10pm. The Matsamo Border Post will operate from 7am to 10 pm instead of 8pm from April 6 to April 7 and the Mananga Border Post will operate from 7am to 8pm instead of 6pm from April 6 to April 8.
“The Ministry understands that during this period, there is an increase in travellers’’ movement leaving and entering Eswatini hence our fully equipped mobile office will be deployed especially to Ngwenya Border Post to ensure efficient service delivery.
“People will not have to wait longer than expected through the check point. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service delivery in a corrupt free environment, Moreover, part of the delivery is minimizing travellers as well as those possessing fraudulent documents, said Nxumalo.
The PS further said the Ministry urged travellers to plan accordingly and check documents timeously to avoid unnecessary delays and ports.
