….Awards Eswatini Environment Fund grants worth over E2 million to 15 community projects

MBABANE – The Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Moses Vilakati has challenged Pigg’s Peak Hotel and Casino Board of Directors to make the hotel big again.
He said that when announcing the Pigg’s Peak Hotel and Casino Board of Directors. The Board will be in office for three years.
It will be chaired by Batjele Malcos Sengwayo. Other members are Gcinangaye Tsabedze, Thulile Yvonne Mdluli, Dr Dan Dlamini, Mbhekwa M. Mthethwa, Happy Dlamini and Leonard Shongwe.
“This New Board is coming in at an interesting time, where the hotel has just secured an operator, Transfrontier Parks Destinations (TFPD),”
“It is my belief that combined with the skills of the new board from their various disciplines, and the experience in hospitality, the hotel has at its disposal all the tools to turn its fortunes around,” said Moses.
Meanwhile, Minister Vilakati also awarded Eswatini Environment Fund grants worth over E2 million to 15 community projects.
The Environment Fund provides seed funding for community projects that address the environmental challenges in the country.
“With the magnitude of the environmental challenges we face, the country needs to do more. With the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution , we are reminded that the Eswatini Environment Fund was established to assist response to these challenges,” he said.
Worth mentioning is that, the Environment Fund focuses on 5 priority areas: Sustainable Land Management; Chemical and Waste Management; Climate Change Adaptation; Sustainable Water Management; and Ecosystem, and Biodiversity Conservation and its Sustainable Use.
